On Nov. 8 and 9, 2016, the international logistics conference, themed "Harbours 360" was held in Duisburg, west Germany. CR Express becomes the focus of the conference. The new transportation mode in Sino-Europe trade brought by CR Express attracts more European logistics enterprises.
In the conference, Erich Staake, CEO of Duisburger Hafen AG mentioned, “CR Express is much more than a railway line. It changes the world industry and logistic activities by connecting different markets. All the countries along the railway will benefit from it. Five years ago, it took 19 days for CR Express to run from Chongqing to Duisburger. At present, the time has been shortened to 11 to 12 days, and more than 20 shifts run every week. We are expecting better future of CR Express.”
Mamuka Baktadze, CEO of Georgian Railway, believes the “Belt and Road” Initiative will bring more positive effects on the countries along the railway. As the founding member of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Georgia is expecting to promote the modernization of its infrastructure construction and improve the customer service via the cooperation.
Thomas Kargl, CEO of Far East Land Bridge, pointed out that CR Express has become a reliable transportation means, compared with air and sea transportation. Russia has benefit from the efficiency of the railway and the line will also promote the transportation and trade in Inland China and Europe.
It is estimated that the total import and export volume between China and Europe during the 12th Five-year Plan has reached US$ 3 trillion, with an increase of 30%. A comprehensive connectivity network is taking shape and the cooperation in customs, inspection and quarantine, logistics between countries along the railway has been strengthened.
