Vice Mayor Liu Guiping’s Visit to Qinzhou City

On August 6th, Mr. Liu Guiping, Vice Mayor of Chongqing Municipality, paid a visit to Qinzhou City, Beibu Gulf Port in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in South China. Mr. Liu and his delegation, accompanied by Mr. Zhang Xiaoqin, Vice Chairman of the Autonomous Region, and Mr. Jiang Liansheng, Director-general of Commerce Department of the Autonomous Region, visited Qinzhou East Railway Station, Qinzhou Bonded area, and China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park. Mr. Huang Haikun, Mayor of Qinzhou City, introduced the construction of “Chonqing-Guangxi-Singapore “channel, operation of the port, advantage industries and the city planning.

Mr. Liu Guiping praised Qinzhou for its economic and social development as well as its great contribution to the construction of the channel. He pointed out that great achievements have been made in the construction of the channel under the joint efforts of Chongqing and Guangxi autonomous region. He hoped that Chongqing and Guangxi can enhance cooperation and promote the normalization of the operation of railway.

Mr. Zhang Xiaoxin, Vice Chairman of the Autonomous Region, also said that “Chonqing-Guangxi-Singapore “channel, which is the third China-Singapore inter-governmental program, is of great importance. In order to promote the project, Guangxi autonomous region is making efforts to optimizing service, improving port facilities and simplifying approval procedures. He hoped that Chongqing and Guangxi can give full play of their own advantages to improve multi-modal transportation and promote the cooperation in trade and manufacturing industry.

Mr. Han Baochang, director of Administration of China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiatives on Strategic Connectivity, and other leaders of Qinzhou City also took part in the visit.
